Frequently asked questions

Yes. A robot vacuum is very useful with dogs or cats because it runs every day and keeps pet hair from building up. Look for a tangle-free brush roll, a large dustbin and strong suction. A self-emptying dock cuts down on handling, but you'll still need to clean the brush and filter regularly.

A 2-in-1 robot handles everyday upkeep on hard floors well, but it won't replace scrubbing by hand for dried-on stains. Newer models with spinning mop pads, or a dock that washes and dries the pads, do a better job. Check that the robot lifts its mop pads over carpets and rugs.

A camera robot can be safe for privacy if images stay on the device or you control what gets uploaded. Prefer a LiDAR model with no camera, or one whose camera can be turned off, from a brand that clearly explains how it handles your data. Protect the account with a unique password.

LiDAR maps quickly and works even in the dark, which makes it a solid default; a camera is better at recognizing some obstacles, such as cords or socks. Many models combine both. Check for no-go zones and multi-floor mapping.

Yes. A window cleaning robot cleans smooth glass on its own, as long as it's secured with a safety tether and has a backup battery in case of a power outage. It's less suited to heavily soiled glass or thick frames. Check the minimum window size, suction strength and edge detection.
